Spinning and Nalbinding

I learned spinning this year for a very good reason - to have an excuse to buy something at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. What can I say? You can take the girl out of Long Island...Anyway, I quickly realized I would never be happy just spinning wool for other people and that I needed to be able to make a finished product. So now I have TWO new skills that I don't have time to get good at! My thanks to my friends in Bright Hills, Lochmere, and Kettle&Trumpets for the patient instruction and for taking so much of your time to teach!

An excess of small pouches. I filled these with candy and gave them away as gifts for the holidays (2010).

A very large green hat. The hat is too big to fit on anyone's head, even a large one, but I got the proportions right. I just need to stop increasing earlier on the spiral.

Here are a few pictures of my first nalbinding object, a pouch. Or possibly a wool behive or a very small hat.
